Let's start with an update from the situation in Israel, where the fighting continued

into its ninth day, even as more calls were made internationally for a ceasefire, including

from the overwhelming majority of EU foreign ministers, as well as from the U.S. Defense

Secretary Lloyd Austin and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

List, the Israeli military said yesterday that it plans to continue its bombardment

of the Hamas tunnel networks that exist beneath civilian streets, which Israel considers

to be the backbone of their operations.

Overall, the infrastructure of Gaza has been decimated with six hospitals and eight clinics

suffering bomb damage, sewage systems have also been destroyed, and hundreds of thousands

of gauzins are facing shortages of fresh water.

Meanwhile, Palestinians across the West Bank, Gaza, and Israel went on strike in a rare

joint action between three populations, and instead called for a day of protests, which

led to clashes between protesters and Israeli police in some areas.

Yesterday, there was an update from the prosecutor in North Carolina who was handling the

shooting of Andrew Brown, a black man who was killed by sheriff's deputies in April.

The prosecutor are Andrew Womble, who was the district attorney for North Carolina's

first judicial district, made the announcement in a news conference yesterday, where he said

that the shooting of Brown was justified and that deadly force was reasonably used because

Brown had used his car as a deadly weapon as he tried to evade arrest.
