Well, it's good to see her back out there. And Ginger is also standing by tracking a record heat here at home as it moves east.

And we begin with President Trump. He's arriving in Beijing for his meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

America's deepening standoff with Iran high in the agenda. Chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce is in Beijing

with the latest. Good morning, Mary.

Good morning, Georgia. President Trump arriving here in Beijing.

This morning, the leaders of the two most powerful nations

coming face to face. President Trump had hoped that this trip would

help reset this critical relationship, but those ambitions now

overshadowed by the war with Iran.

This morning, President Trump touching down in China, as the war with Iran looms large.

But this is not the visit the president had initially planned. He had hoped to arrive in China,

victorious over Iran, with momentum to seal deals on trade and technology. Instead, the standstill in the

war, taking center stage. Trump insists he doesn't need Chinese President Xi's help to end the

conflict, but says they will discuss it. We're going to have a long talk about it.

I think he's been relatively good, to be honestly.

China is one of Iran's closest allies, buying more Iranian oil than any other country.
