0:07.0	I'm Albert Moeller, and this is the briefing, a daily analysis of news and events from a Christian worldview. Well France has
0:14.9	done it. The French Parliament and with the cooperation of the president of
0:19.4	France, Emmanuel Macron and the nation's prime minister, they have all worked together so that a woman's right
0:25.1	to an abortion is now enshrined in the French Constitution.
0:28.8	France thus becomes the first nation on earth to explicitly include abortion rights in the nation's
0:35.6	Constitution. Now that's a dark story but it's also a huge development. It's big
0:41.5	news of course because we are talking about amending the French
0:45.0	constitution. As I discussed previously on the briefing, putting this in a nation's
0:49.6	constitution is a concrete way of saying this particular claim constitutes the nation.
0:57.0	So France is saying that abortion rights now constitute the nation.
1:01.0	France is now indivable without abortion rights.
1:04.3	The French Constitution is inadequate, inoperable without abortion rights.
1:09.5	Now as we saw Menia Macron, the French, actually referred to the Dobbs decision handed down by the US Supreme
1:16.3	Court in the year 2022 reversing Roe v. Wade as the impetus behind why France needed to explicitly affirm and include abortion rights
1:26.5	in the nation's constitution.
1:28.1	Now remember, nothing happened in France to bring this about.
1:30.4	Instead, it was a reference back to the Dobbs decision by the United States
1:34.4	Supreme Court. That became the opportunity for political, well, opportunism on the part of the
1:40.4	French president and in complicity the entirety of the French government.
1:45.2	The French Prime Minister joined in the same thing and an overwhelming supermajority in
1:50.1	both of the chambers of the French Parliament acted in such a way that it is now a part of the
