0:39.3	And for those hoping for federal student loan forgiveness, let's just say the vibes were off.
0:46.1	The justices were very skeptical of the plan.
0:49.7	One example they used was, why should someone who took out a loan to go to college have it forgiven,
0:55.5	but someone who took out a loan to start a lawn care business should not.
1:00.6	Representing the administration was U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar.
1:06.0	She argued that the Education Secretary had the authority to, quote, wave or modify, end quote,
1:13.5	federal student assistance programs on the Post-9-11 Heroes Act, which stands for higher education
1:20.7	relief opportunities for students. Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Clarence Thomas were both
1:27.2	skeptical about the words,
1:29.3	Wave or Modify.
1:30.7	They said that the act doesn't say modify or waive loan balances.
1:36.9	And I know that is tough to hear if you are expecting that $10,000 or $20,000 debt relief
1:43.1	anytime soon.
1:44.4	It doesn't look like they're going to have a final answer until June.
