all the things Jesus said because they're not found here in Matthew, but what they do say and how

they do mock is such a teaching to us today. So I want you to listen in and we'll talk about the first three hours on the cross.

Hey, friends, welcome back.

We are at a very dark scene here in Matthew 27.

We're actually at the cross.

And I understand that back in Bible days,

when somebody was crucified,

they were crucified in the most public of places.

That was the modus operandi of Rome.

They wanted to send a message.

And crucifixion was a gruesome message that you don't mess with Rome.

In fact, so gruesome was crucifixion that the Romans did not allow their own citizens to be crucified.

This was a death that they put upon others like these dirty Jews and others of the peoples of the Roman

kingdom.

And they wanted as much shock and awe as they could exact.

So typically when somebody was crucified, there was a high conspicuousness.
