Hey friends, welcome back. We are still in Matthew 27. Really tough to move quickly, nor do I want to move

quickly, through this section where Jesus was on the cross, doing heaven's work, doing the work

of our salvation, suffering, dying our death, paying for our sins.

And we talked about the first three hours on the cross from 6 a.m. until, I'm sorry,

for 9 a.m. until noon. But now we're in the 6th hour, so noon time. And it says in verse 45, so Matthew 2745, now from the sixth hour,

so six from the beginning of daylight, which would have been six a.m. So this is noon. Now from the

sixth hour, there was darkness over all the land onto the ninth hour.

So there's our three hours. From 12 until three, there was an eclipse, a darkening of the world,

or certainly that area of the world. And that must have been ominous for those that were there watching,

the crowd, those traveling. The sun is brightest at noonday. And yet at noon day,

everything went dark. Why? Because these are the hours where Jesus is enduring as our eternal God, the eternal Son of God,
