A U.S. soldier was detained in North Korea. The fight over Taco Tuesday comes to an end. And in Phoenix, it's hot. Like really, really hot. Like you open an oven door that's what it feels like exactly what it feels like.

It's Wednesday July 19th. Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, Donald Trump said he's a target in a federal investigation looking into the January 6 attack at the capital.

On social media yesterday, the former president said he got a letter from the Justice Department

on Sunday.

It told him that he's a target of an investigation into efforts to overturn the

2020 election. The letter means that Trump could soon face further federal

charges. He's already been charged in a separate federal case over his alleged

mishandling of classified documents.

And in related news, Michigan charged 16 pro-Trump electors yesterday,

who falsely claimed to be casting the state's electoral votes in 2020.

Number two, Phoenix hit a record

19 days in a row of 110 plus degree weather.

Temperatures rose as high as 118 degrees in the city yesterday,

and its hot streak is not expected to end anytime soon. Forecast show that the extreme

heat will continue into the weekend. Across the country, some 58 million people could

suffer triple-digit temperatures in the U.S. this week, mainly in southern states.

And this is all happening while brutal heat waves are also hitting Europe, China, and the

Middle East.

In Iran, the Heat Index reached 152 degrees this week.

For context here, that's about as close to the most intense heat the human body can withstand. Number three, a US soldier was detained after intentionally crossing into North Korea.
