I'm Dave Hunter. Time right now for a check of Rift News. Detroit saw reductions in the number of violent crimes, including homicides and non-fatal shootings last year.

According to news statistics just released by the police department, there were 300 criminal homicides, not including 26 deemed justifiable and 1554 non-fatal shootings.

That's down from 332 homicides and 1161 non-fatal shootings in 2013.

Wasn't 2013, weren't we like that was the year of death?

Yeah, wasn't that the year of the day. Yeah, yeah.

The number of homicides is the lowest since 1967 in Detroit.

But I mean, don't get too excited. It's still high.

Yeah. It's still like 300 homicides.

Yeah, that's a lot.

It's still a lot like to have the reason why it's down as cause a bunch of them got killed last year.
