Real quick look at all the headlines as you start your day, and the show starts right now.

And we always start with the top story.

Again, it's the fires in L.A.

The return of those Santa Ana

wins which were predicted for yesterday didn't end up coming which is great

but that doesn't mean they're not coming the National Weather Service said

they should materialize early this morning so right around the time I'm

recording this red flag warnings are in effect from 3 a.m. local time this morning

to 3 p.m. this afternoon,

so not out of the woods yet. As of this morning, at least 25 people have been killed in these fires.

More than 12,000 homes have been damaged, and around 100,000 people have been ordered to flee their homes.

President Biden announced $770 checks for residents impacted by the fires, federal assistance.

Also yesterday, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced an executive order to fast-track recovery efforts for students and families.

They say they're going to cut through red tape to get schools back on their feet, opening temporary facilities and whatnot.

Let's hope for the best today.
