Hey friends, welcome back. First Kings chapter one today in your Bible. Left you on a little bit of a

cliffhanger last episode, but we're here in verse

15. David is on his deathbed. He is old and cold. We've talked about that. And in this weekend

state, one of his opportunistic sons, Adaniya, has called a press conference. And he has made it very clear

that I am the next king. I declare myself to be. I have the endorsement of the priest to Abaithar.

I have the endorsement of the military commander Joab. And nobody is even running against me. I have all the other king's sons whom I've

invited. This is a slam dunk. And yet what Adinajah was doing was sinful and deceptive,

and somebody had to tell David. Well, fortunately, there were some faithful ones in David's life. Nathan

the prophet, Zadok, the priest, Benaya, one of the mighty men, and some others. And of course,

Basheba. So Nathan gets together with Bashiba and says, Basheba, you have to go in there and tell him.

He's unaware of this.

Remind him that he chose Solomon to be the next in line.

And now Adaniyah is trying to subvert this decision of David's.

Somebody has to go tell him.

So you tell him, and I've got your back,

Bashiba, because you go in and tell him, and then I will go in and confirm all your words.
