Let's start with the quick headlines you need to know about Russia and Ukraine from yesterday.

Biden gave a speech calling out Russia's moves in Ukraine as an invasion and a violation

of international law.

He also announced that the US and EU will be imposing their first round of sanctions,

which will target two key Russian financial institutions.

Russian sovereign debt and Russian elites and their family members, which is relevant

because Russia is an oligarchy.

In another bloated Putin, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz halted the authorization of

the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which is key to Russian export of energy to Europe.

So you can expect to be hearing a lot more in the coming conflict about this very important

pipeline and why it is financially critical to Russia, but also energetically critical

to Europe.

You know, if only there were some other forms of energy that we could use to power our

lives, so that we didn't all have to rely on the whims of a maniacal former KGB agent.

But given the potential energy supply issues that could come out of this, along with the

general uncertainty of what will happen, Wall Street markets fell across all sectors

yesterday, and the price of oil surged to its highest price in eight years.

And honestly, if we are going back eight years, this is not personally the feature I'd

pick to relive.
