0:12.4	Actual moves were made between Russia and Ukraine this weekend, and as of this recording,
0:16.2	the latest news is that Russia has started to invade, though slowly.
0:19.8	Yesterday, Vladimir Putin gave an hour-long speech, that was really more like a rant, and
0:24.6	signed a decree that Russia now recognizes two regions in Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk,
0:30.0	as autonomous, aka they are not part of Ukraine anymore, in his book.
0:35.0	He did this on the basis that the entirety of Ukraine is actually a country that was created
0:39.3	by Russia, which is international relations for, I like, invented you.
0:45.2	Putin also signed a decree authorizing the entrance of what Russia calls peacekeepers
0:49.5	into those regions, but that is actually just the Russian propaganda term for the military
0:54.2	is coming in.
0:55.8	So this is finally the long-awaited invasion, but in classic Kremlin style, Putin is calling
1:00.7	it peacekeeping, and also doing a soft launch on his stories before posting it on main.
1:05.7	He has now named these regions the Donetsk and Luhansk peoples' republics.
1:09.8	They are relevant and desirable because they contain Russian speakers who support Russia,
1:14.1	even though they are part of Ukraine.
1:16.1	And if you're just tuning into this conflict, it is relevant to know that Putin would
1:19.6	ideally want all of Ukraine to be part of Russia.
1:22.6	So this is kind of like his caviar before his borscht.
