Big news for hockey fans in Seattle.

A new pro-women's team will be making its home at Climate Pledge Arena this fall. Seattle now's very own Von Jones has more.

That's the sound at Climate Pledge Arena from a professional women's hockey league takeover game in January.

Now the PWHL is making Seattle a permanent home, but the team name is still forthcoming.

PWHL Executive Vice President Amy Shear says the decision to expand to Seattle wasn't hard to make.

I've talked about Seattle being the home of women's sports, and so we are looking forward

to those 12,000 fans and all of Seattle coming out to see our games.

And lastly, but not least is that, we really hope Seattle and Vancouver develop a pretty

cool rivalry.

That's right, Seattle isn't the only team joining the now-eight-team league. Seattle has a built-in

rivalry with Vancouver. The team will begin play at the start of next season. The schedule

isn't available yet, but last season began in late November. Bon Jones, KUOWW News.
