here's the roundup of today's top stories. It's Wednesday, January 8th. Firefighters from the Seattle

area are headed to California. So far, nine fire departments in the

Puget Sound area have deployed crews to California to help fight the Los Angeles County fires,

according to the Seattle Times. On top of local crews, the state Department of Natural Resources

is sending about 35 wildland firefighters who are part of two DNR strike teams.

Thomas Kyle Millward is a wildfire communications manager for Washington's DNR.

And he says the crews will bring about 10 fire engines, aka brush trucks, with them.
