| 0:35.2 | Hi there. Good morning to you. It is Thursday. No, it's not. It's Wednesday. The first of December, I'm jumping ahead of myself. Thanks for being with us on Dave and Chuck the Freak on this Wednesday morning. |
| 0:49.2 | My thing that I've gotten into over the past year is like audiobooks. Okay. You like audiobooks. Yeah, I kind of took me a while to get into them. I didn't really like them at first. |
| 1:02.2 | I like them too. I always felt like that was the one way I was going to be able to read books. Yeah, me too. You know, I never sat down and read a whole book even in high-excluded. If I try to, I fall asleep. Yeah, I give you a try. |
| 1:14.2 | Time is a lot of works. Oh, yeah, if I read, I'm out. Are you really? I don't have the attention span for it. I love it. I'm going to read your pages. |
| 1:22.2 | I'm going to read them and then I go to sleep. When people read, they say they almost have a movie in their mind. Yeah, it doesn't happen to me. That's my problem. I read stuff over and over and over. |
| 1:33.2 | It's my problem with audiobooks because I have the movie in my mind. You do. And I can hear voices and stuff and I kind of set the whole scene. |
| 1:41.2 | I listen to it. It's not what I imagine it would be, right? Yeah. So here's this one I'm listening to right now. The person who reads it obviously can make or break an audiobook. Yeah, 100%. |
| 1:54.2 | Yeah. Some of them are incredible. They can do a million different voices and they're so good. Some of them are horrible. They paid nothing for. Yeah. That's this one I got. |
| 2:03.2 | So it's like a murder mystery and it's being told from a man and a woman's perspective. The woman is the detective. The man is the killer. They know each other. She doesn't know he's the killer. |
| 2:20.2 | The killer. Okay. So that's the premise of the book. But this is the first one they have two people. So they've hired a guy and a girl. |
| 2:29.2 | Okay. She's voicing the detective. He's voicing the killer. |
| 2:34.2 | But in a bizarre twist that I didn't ever expect, he when he's thinking from his perspective and she's talking to him, he does her voice too. And vice versa. |
| 2:50.2 | Weird. So like so it's like she like say like one chapter is her. Go into the police station doing a thing meeting this guy talking to him about. So she reads the whole chapter. |
| 3:01.2 | So she reads the whole chapter even when she's talking to him. But in the next chapter when it's him, he reads it. Even when they never interact. They never interact. |
| 3:12.2 | So they just hired two. They hired two people to read. Yeah. But he's like she doesn't know I'm the killer. Oh, but then I had to. |
| 3:24.2 | And how are you doing today? Yeah. That's the only thing that creeps me out actually about audio books when it's a single like it's one guy doing all the voices. |
| 3:34.2 | And there's a lot of female characters. He's like, oh my god. I'm like, it's a buffalo village to me. Yeah. There's something really I prefer it. And I don't hope this isn't sexist. I prefer if it's a woman doing female voices and then male voices to me. |
| 3:48.2 | The guy doing female voices is a creepier. Yeah. It is. It's I don't know. Yeah. Like I listen to listen to one of the Tom DeLong books. And like there's the he always has the same guy apparently like reading it. |
| 4:02.2 | And in this book, it's like it's like a love story kind of. And it's just odd for like an old man to be voicing like the character of like a 18 year old girl. |
| 4:16.2 | It's just weird. It's weird. The audio. So you know, yes. |
