commercial spaces here making money and making headlines. We're headed now to

commercial spaces most recent successes. This has to do with

Mars and the moon. But first to stop at big space because big space does do things

superbly, especially when it's a robot. The robot in person is the

James Webb Space Telescope. Bob Zimmerman is here to explain its most recent

accomplishment. What did it manage, Bob? They used web to take an infrared

false color image of an exoplanet. This is the first exoplanet that web

has taken a direct image of. It is not optical, it is infrared, but it's still a direct image of it.

There have been a bunch of other exoplanets that Hubble has taken pictures of.

They know, you know, what you see is a blob.

I've got the picture on behind the black if you want to go look at it. It's interesting

There's a coronograph on web that blocks the light of the star so you can see objects around it and so you're not blinded by the star and that's what they used here.

The picture and the data, spectroscopy data tells them that this planet isn't quite in the orbit they expected and it is much colder than

they expected which is interesting it will teach them something about how

exoplanets form down the road and it's just good data.

And the James Webb is also given us carbon monoxide.
