Good evening, once again. I am Stephanie Rule, and it is day 274 of the second Trump administration. And in less than one hour, we will enter day 21 of the government shutdown.

And both sides seem absolutely no closer to ending it than they did when it began. Watch this.

The president has spent one hour negotiating this issue with leadership in Congress. That's it, one hour. They need to get in the room and stay in a room until we can hash this out. The president has said he wants to fix this premium thing, and he wants the government open. That's what we want. If they don't open the government next week, I really don't know how long it's going to take. Maybe the Republicans are going to have to take extreme measures.

The president could pick the Democrats' favorite things and stop them forever legally.

And he's yet to do that.

Meanwhile, Politico reports the confidence and cohesion from Republicans and a similar feeling among Democrats means no quick end to what is approaching one of the longest shutdowns in our history.

Over the weekend, flights were delayed due to staffing issues with air traffic controllers caused by the shutdown with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warning.

That could start to happen more.

Their next paycheck comes a week from Tuesday, and in that paycheck, there will be no dollars.

They don't get paid.

And so I think what you might see is more disruptions in travel, as more of them look to say,

how do I bridge the gap between the check that's not coming and

putting food on my table? And we've heard they're taking Uber jobs. They're doing DoorDash,
