I'm still a kind of processing the response to my recent solid ground.

It's something that I have been putting together

for a couple of years because of the pushback on one aspect of the story of reality relating to the

cross that I've received and a number of letters some very long letters with tons of

verses and I've saved all of this and the my

thoughts in musings about it over time in a file and then pull that file out and decided I'm going to respond here and try to put together

a characterization of the atonement and what was going on there that is

affirmed in scripture. In my view, it seems to me, and this is part of my own my view it seems to me and this is part of my own my own frustration here that it's

with it appears completely clear and ought not be controversial.

As I was talking with, and it has to do with the anger of the father towards sinners that needs to be satisfied,

appeased, propitiated, whatever word that you want to use and people lots of times they choose words there.

Appased really we have to appease God.

I said well you can choose whatever you want but a debt has to be paid. We owe him and the debt has to be paid.

There are different ways of characterizing this in the New Testament, but it's largely forensic language.
