Summary

This Sunday, Pastor Jon continued our “We Want You Here” series with a teaching on prayer through tears. Our world is a fallen place, and it has become the cultural norm to be cynical and numb to the pain, injustice, and sin that surrounds us. However, not only has God never gone numb to the world, He invites us to weep our way back to the tenderness of His heart.

0:17.4	As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, if you, even you,
0:24.5	had only known on this day what would bring you peace.
0:29.2	But now it is hidden from your eyes.
0:32.2	This is the word of the Lord.
0:36.5	When is the last time that you cried?
0:40.3	Really, really wept.

0:55.0	I'm convinced that one of the things that God wants to do in our church is to give our church the gift of tears.
1:04.0	I'm on the receiving end of so many prophetic words from people about the gift of tears,

1:18.6	I just have a sense the Lord wants to give you more tears.
1:24.6	Tears are a gift from heaven because we get so callous to the brokenness of the world, we stop trying to change it.

1:36.3	There's a psychological term for when you get numb to the things around you, and it's the term called habituation.
