Hello, my name is Jesse Meekam with another episode of the Jesse Meekam show, and I'm here each week to obsess out loud about spending purposefully, saving aspirationally, and giving joyfully,

it all comes down to just giving every dollar a job. And I'll be honest with you. I don't want

to bury the lead. The secret, the way so many people save money and pay off debt and set aside

their cash for things they want and start to really build a lot of margin,

start to eliminate the second guessing, start to communicate better.

They just, I mean, their bank account just gets patted and patted and patted.

They have more money than they know what to do with, not really, but it's feeling that way.

They're shocked at how much their finances have transformed.

They can't believe how many digits are in the bank account.

The bank teller offers them multiple savings accounts to try and spread that money around but we're wise to that we

know not to take them up on that all of this all of this has been achieved because this person or

this couple or whatever decided they would eat out less and uh it pains me to say that the sum of my existence professionally has been to build a

framework for decision making that leads basically everyone to the same conclusion. Huh,

we sure are eating out a lot. Huh. What if we get out a little less? So to this uh well i have two things to share one a story back

uh in manhattan uh where we lived there for three months back in it was eight years ago now

and uh and then a story more recently where we went you know entirely the other direction and you get

to kind of hear my

personal philosophy on eating out. And, well, let's just dive in. Back in 2017, for the months of

November, December, and January, the Meekam household lived up in the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

We did it as an experiment, a way just to have fun.

And I worked, and we did all the normal touristy things,

and just got to know the city and loved the experience for our family.
