With a lot of heart, today we're chatting about how grateful we are for each other and our friendship. We recount how we met as next door neighbors, became podcast co-hosts, and over the years have grown into the dearest of friends. We also share what we've learned from one another and the ways we make each other better people. We immediately shared a big hug after recording this.
For Friends of the Show on Patreon, we're each sharing what's surprised us the most about the other person or our friendship.
We are thankful for all of our listeners near and far, and happy Thanksgiving this week to our American listeners!

| 0:49.5 | Okay, let's start with the story of how we met and found our way to recording a podcast together. It's actually quite unlikely, maybe. I think we've told this story before, but it is part of our lore, so we need to retell it here. Yeah. Okay. So we'll tag team this. Yes. We met as next door neighbors. Yes. At which inspired the name of the podcast. If you didn't know, it's in our intro. We did live next door to each other for several years. So we've lived in our house since July of 2009. When did you guys move in? And we bought our house next to you in November of 2009. So we moved in like Thanksgiving weekend. Okay. That close. Okay. I didn't realize. Okay. I remember that you guys did some work on your house before you moved in. Did you know that Chip Kidd and I went and walked through your house? Took a little, took a little mozy. Good for you. Chip Chip kid was like, oh yeah, we'll just go walk in. |
| 1:46.7 | While they were working on things. I love it. That's just what he does. Just lets himself in. He's like, I'm a realtor. Don't worry about it. He's got a badge just like shows it. I love it. Just walk into a house with confidence. I love it. Yeah, it was a foreclosure. I think yours was too when you bought it, right? |
| 2:00.7 | It had been a recent flip. |
| 2:02.3 | Oh, okay. |
| 2:03.3 | Foreclosure to flip. |
| 2:04.1 | Someone had already kind of. I love it. Yeah, it was a foreclosure. I think yours was too when you bought it, right? It had been a |
| 2:01.3 | recent flip. So, like, foreclosure to flip. Someone had already kind of fixed it up. That was a season for that. Not in the fixed up state yet. It needed some updating. So we did that before we moved in. So I'm glad it got the stamp of approval before we were even there. Yeah. Yeah. So, okay, do you remember meeting for the first time? |
| 2:20.2 | I don't think I did. Did we stop by? Did we just see each other at the mailbox? |
| 2:24.7 | One of the first things I remember is, yeah, I think it was just more like in passing, oh, hi, |
| 2:29.8 | introducing, because you're so friendly. I mean, it probably got to gone a year without us meeting if you |
| 2:35.0 | wouldn't be the friendlier one who introduces yourself. And then I do remember like the first time |
