Hello from Washington, I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast.

We are a week and a day away from the election.

We're starting to get a good look at what really happened.

And since we don't really have instant polls to use, we got to do it the old fashion way,

look at the returns.

One thing is clear, we're still in the middle of a realignment of the electoral map because

we're still in the middle of a political realignment.

We're seeing a voter shift from the rust belt to the sun belt, but this was an election

that seemed to straddle the map from previous years.

And point is in the direction of how the map is going to change in the future.

This is very much a transitional map that we're staring at right now, joining me now to dig

into these numbers.
