been talking about a lot at the athletic. We will be talking more about

it. We're going to circle back around on the equal pay settlement since Paul is able to provide

his expertise on the men's national team's side of things. We've got more on the new TV

deal for U.S. soccer and, of course, just plenty more about U.S. Soccer Federation in general. But before we get to

cannot record this podcast first without expressing my sorrow over the passing of Stanford

goalkeeper Katie Meyer. Now, obviously, this is a player that so many of us knew and followed

thanks to her performance in the NCAA championship against North Carolina, just an all-time

display, not just on penalty

kicks and her saves, but her competitive nature, her sense of humor shining through with her

reactions to the camera as well, but she was much more than just this one moment to her teammates,

to her friends, and to her family. I did also want to take this moment to share a post from Bethany Balser from O'L Rain,

the newest woman's national team, which she shared on Wednesday evening as well, and she posted

it on her Instagram. It reads, I keep seeing people say check on your people and there's

nothing wrong with that statement and I get everyone's sentiment. But sometimes that's not enough.
