Summary

Wiley Brio grew up playing in the woods, as a kid. After he graduated high school, he attended a survival school. He’s also worked as a wildland forest firefighter and he worked as an arborist for years. If you’re getting the impression that Wiley loves being in the woods, your instincts are serving you well. Due to all the time Wiley has spent in the woods, he’s had Sasquatch sightings and some interesting experiences that didn’t have him seeing a Sasquatch but they interacted with him, nonetheless. 0:14.2	Hello, everyone. My name is Wiley Bureau. I'm born and raised in New Jersey. I was born in Princeton, grew up in central New Jersey.
0:25.0	If there had to be a central New Jersey, the town I grew up would have had to have been
0:28.9	smack down in the middle. A little bit about myself is I've always been into the outdoors.
0:34.8	I grew up, I've been hiking across, so I grew up in New Jersey
0:38.4	and like the southern side of New Jersey is extremely developed. I'm up to my town, basically.
0:44.5	It's developed all the way into Jersey City up to Manhattan. Then the northwestern side of my
0:51.5	town becomes rural and there's just preserved forests, lots of hiking
0:57.7	trails, and basically it's forest and greenways and farmland up to Pennsylvania. So the street I grew up on
1:05.5	was like a side forested road right next to a preserve. And ever since I was born, my mom put me in her backpack as an
1:12.8	infant and would just take me hiking. And I literally grew up just playing out in the woods as a kid.
1:17.5	So after I graduated high school, I was inspired to join a survival school in Washington State.
1:25.2	And in the survival school, I learned how to basically survive with
1:29.2	nothing but my hands in the forest. I can make fire with sticks. I could make snares and trap animals.
1:34.6	I know how to track as well. And I also can make medicines out of medicinal plants. I could forage
1:40.4	for wild edibles, wild mushrooms. And it was a really great experience.
1:45.0	And after that experience, I did a couple of years of AmeriCorps, traveling around the country,
1:50.0	volunteering, immersing myself into different communities.
1:53.0	And through there, I became a wild and forced firefighter.
1:57.0	So I did a little wild and forest firefighting after AmeriCorps, and I really loved that, and I made some great connections.
2:05.1	But I decided after that I wanted to get a four-year college degree in environmental science slash ecology.
