Summary

Romans 8:18-23 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

Hello my friends and welcome back to the morning mindset. It is time for you and

0:07.7

I to get our minds aligned with the truth of God in today's truth that we're

0:11.9

looking at is coming from Romans chapter 8

0:14.7

verses 18 through 23. 18 through 23 it's a pretty sizable little chunk but it's all

0:21.0

tied together in the same topic that the Apostle Paul is addressing

0:25.7

for us.

0:26.7

Now he's been speaking to us about the reality of our salvation, the reality of our

0:33.0

redemption in Jesus Christ.

0:35.0

And it's teaching us that we can be confident

0:39.0

that we are not only children of God, but we are also heirs of God and that as we endure the

0:46.6

suffering and the pain the hardship that happens in this life we are proving

0:51.3

our salvation to be real because we're willing to undergo the difficulties

0:56.4

that come about as a result of being saved. You know, someone who's not a legitimate whatever is not willing to do what it takes to be that thing.

1:08.9

You know they may have made the decision, they may have placed their confidence in the fact that they can become that but if they're not willing to do the work

1:15.8

You see this is a matter of the will they're not willing to do the work then that their willingness is not there

1:21.1

So they're not really that thing whether it be a golfer or a dancer or an artist or whatever.

1:27.0

Paul has just told us that and now in Romans 8, 18 through 23,

1:32.0

he's taking that concept of suffering and hardship that you have to

1:35.5

endure to become the thing you want to be.

1:38.8

And he is explaining to us where that came from and we'll find out we are not alone in this suffering.

1:45.2

He says, for I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing

1:51.7

with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
