All right, everybody. Welcome back to another edition of The Teardown. My name is Jeff Gluck, along with Jordan Bianchi. We are motorsports writers to the athletic, and we are one week into the NASCAR off season. And it feels pretty surreal. My week was completely thrown off all week, Jordan, because we attended the NASCAR

Awards on Tuesday.

You took a little trip to Minnesota.

I flew home Wednesday.

And then, you know, normally I'm getting home Monday after a race.

So my whole body was thinking the whole week, oh, it's the start of the

week. And then all of a sudden, here's the weekend. Here I am on my couch watching football. That

was nice. And, you know, I was just like, whoa, we're already, suddenly we look up and the season's

already been over for a week. But man, what a, what a whirlwind there to end the year, huh? It's crazy. It's like the, today was like the first day of like, wow, the offseason is here. And it's, it's very truncated, too. That federal trial, it's just a few weeks away that, who knows, that'll take place. And, you know, it's's just it's been a long year um it's been a

crazy year uh but it felt like the storyline wise and we'll dive into this much deeper in our

other shows or anything like that but it's like the two biggest storylines this year were kind of

almost off track you know playoff conversation for most of the year and then um lawsuit you know

and it wasn't so much competition focused and now that we're in the off season it's like it just

you look back and you're like this season's a blur like what what happened on the track

well as you mentioned um we're recording this on Monday, November 10th, Monday morning.

And three weeks from today, the trial is scheduled to begin in Charlotte.

So they have three weeks.

Of course, they could come up with the settlement even after the trial begins.

But I will be on a plane three weeks from yesterday if there's no settlement before that.

So, man, there was close.

I mean, they were very close to a settlement not too long ago.
