Today's question comes from Alexis in Connecticut.

0:16.8

My husband and I exceed the income limits when it comes to retirement account contributions.

0:21.3

We've heard about the backdoor Roth IRA option, but it seems a bit complicated to manage every year.

0:27.2

Are there simpler alternatives or other strategies we could consider?

0:33.1

I mean, I don't think it's that complicated to manage every year, and if you want help with it, you could use a financial advisor who could help execute a lot of the pieces for you. Are there other simpler alter? I don't think there's anything much simpler when it comes to tax advantage retirement options. Now, it depends on what your retirement options are currently. If you've got a 401k, you've maxed out, that's a great

0:55.8

place to go, especially the Roth option. You got the backdoor Roth IRA option. There's a mega

1:01.4

backdoor 401k option that you might have access to with your company. You can check with your

1:06.3

HR department, but that one is even a little more complicated. So the backdoor Roth IRA is simply this.

1:12.7

You contribute with after-tax dollars to a traditional IRA, and then you convert that to Roth.

1:19.7

So it's two steps, and I don't think it's as complicated as you're making it out to be.

1:24.6

You said you've heard about it, but you haven't actually done it. So I would

1:27.7

do it first before you decide it's much too complicated. There's lots of videos on this online, and

1:33.9

again, you can reach out to a smart master pro on our website if you want help with it. If it feels

1:38.9

too complicated, that's what they're there for, to help you understand the stuff and to not

1:42.6

make it so overwhelming. But good problem to have. Yeah, very good problem to have. And you talking about super megas and back doors. It feels like a child names. I don't know, man. What's better? What's better? Mega or super mega? It feels like we're naming Charmin' toilet paper. It's like how about we just simplify the whole process, Congress? But that's too much to ask. That's a lot.
