Fox. Hey, this is Trey. Thank you for joining us this week, and it's been quite a week for our country collectively, but also for each of you individually,

struggling as individual citizens who love this country,

process what has unfolded, why and how we can recover.

My hope that 2021 would bring a fresh start with all the optimism, opportunity, and newness attendant there too does not seem to have materialized. Not yet, at least. Many of us wondered how any year could be as bad as 2020 and then we learned that painful lesson that just when we think things cannot get any worse,

they actually can.

Let's start with last Tuesday night.

even though Tuesday is not the beginning of any week,

and night is not the beginning of any week and night is not the beginning of any day. I think we would do well

to come back to Monday and early Tuesday of the past week, but for now, for now, let's start with Tuesday evening because that brought us the

polls closing in two tight runoff raises with control of the United States Senate, literally on the ballot in Georgia.

Democrats wound up winning both seats.

We knew it was possible, but it was also eminently avoidable,

and therefore, at least by by me not fully expected.

Republicans had been winning runoff races in Georgia for two decades.

Both were incumbents and the consequences of these races could not have been more
