Fox. Hey, this is Trey. Thank you for joining us this week. Just a couple of things on my mind, and I'm curious as always what your thoughts are as well.

Two things in particular happened this week warranting some reflection.

Law enforcement and prosecutors at a press conference on the status of the investigations

following the storming and siege of the

capital. I think something like a hundred people have been arrested thus far with

many more under investigation. It's too early to know for sure, but it's within the realm of the possible that hundreds of people will wind up facing criminal charges.

There's a long and diverse list of charges and potential charges,

law enforcement and prosecutors also in this press conference

provided an explanation of why someone may be charged with a lesser crime

and ultimately those charges would be upgraded.

It actually happens quite frequently. You make an arrest for a crime, perhaps a weapons violation,

even though there are other more significant crimes also being contemplated.

And for those who may not be accustomed to the justice system, it takes probable

calls to make an arrest. On a scale of one to a hundred probable calls is somewhere

around 30 to 35 percent.

Not nearly enough for a conviction which is beyond a reasonable doubt but certainly more

than a guess or a hunch or just a mere accusation.
