Summary

Acts 9:26-31 - And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples. And they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and declared to them how on the road he had seen the Lord, who spoke to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus. 28 So he went in and out among them at Jerusalem, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 And he spoke and disputed against the Hellenists. But they were seeking to kill him. 30 And when the brothers learned this, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus. 31 So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.

0:34.6	We're beginning with verse 26 today.
0:36.4	Now we've been following the story of a man named Saul who was zealously persecuting
0:41.8	God's people and became a follower of Jesus himself.
0:47.1	And where we're at in the storyline right now is the point at which he has become very
0:52.6	zealous for Jesus, and he's been passing and teaching the word of Jesus everywhere he
0:57.0	goes.
0:58.0	Verse 26 tells us when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples.
1:03.4	Now let's stop here for a moment.
1:05.5	These are the people who first came to faith in Jesus after he rose from the dead and
1:11.1	after he appeared to many and the disciples are all those including the apostles who walked
1:17.3	alongside Jesus and many others.
1:20.7	So he's attempting to join them in Jerusalem and they were all afraid of him, for they
1:25.9	did not believe that he was a disciple.
