Summary

Acts 9:20-25 - And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.” 21 And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?” 22 But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ. 23 When many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him, 24 but their plot became known to Saul. They were watching the gates day and night in order to kill him, 25 but his disciples took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a basket.

0:15.2	I think today we get to see that principle in action, but before we get there I want

0:39.4	Alright now why am I talking about traitors in heroes?
0:43.9	Well because we just read in the book of Acts chapter 9 that this guy saw who was zealously
0:51.4	persecuting Christians because he was such a devout Jewish disciple turns and becomes
0:59.2	a Christian.
1:00.9	So in the eyes of the Jewish people and especially the Jewish leaders he would be a traitor.
1:06.3	He would be turning against his heritage and his faith and his people.
1:12.6	But in Saul's mind he has found the truth and you know that phrase that I mentioned at
1:18.6	the beginning about whether or not you're a traitor or a hero really is a general principle.
1:23.5	The reality is that there is truth behind the perspective one way or another and what
1:29.2	amima that is this.
1:31.0	We know from the account that we've read that Saul was following the true Savior Jesus Christ
1:37.2	and it was the Jewish authorities at the time who did not recognize their own Messiah.
1:43.7	Saul was not being a traitor, Saul was following the Messiah that they all were anticipating.
