Summary

Our story continues, as in episode 12 of the Long War, the Habsburgs scramble their forces together in the midst of increasingly worrying news across all fronts. Ernst Stahremberg (pictured) makes an appearance, and sets to work building up the defences of Vienna for whatever may transpire. Meanwhile, Charles of Lorraine is celebrated as the man in charge of Habsburg forces, but this ragtag bunch of Europeans will have to shape up before they face up to the terrible might of the Turks.

All the while, Kara Mustafa seems to move faster than anyone ever expected, his focus set on...where? Only ever so gradually would the Habsburgs in their Hofburg palace find out.

1:32.3	Last time we finalised our diplomatic details in the Habsburg-Otoman camp and saw how the two parties slid towards war at different times.
1:41.3	While the Habsburgs declared through Herm Hermann of Baden, that they considered
1:44.7	themselves in a state of war with the Turks from the 12th of May, 1683 onwards, in Sultan Mehmed
1:50.9	the fourth's mind, the date could very well be set back half a year, and in the Grand Vizier's mind,
1:57.2	it could possibly be set back a full year, or even 20 years.
2:08.3	What we also learned last time was that we simply do not know what was going on in either Mustafa or Mehmet's head at this point in time.
2:15.8	We believe that they acted against the Habsburgs for several reasons, gradually departing from Belgrade in early May, 1683.
