And let's go right away, if we can, to ABC News correspondent, Christiane Cordero,

with the latest developments in the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Christian, thank you so much for joining us on KFI.

Glad to be here, Wayne. I'm sorry that you're not on vacation.

Oh, thank you.

Well, what's the latest going on here?

Totally. So we're focused right now, right, on what happened in the moment

before the shooting, right? And there will be wide-front investigations. One notably will be

led by, or at least overseen by the House. And there are two separate House committees

that are now involved in this.

And so it's the House Oversight Committee and the House Homeland Security Committee.

And so basically, the most paramount question is how did the shooter get up there within line of sight of former President Trump?

Obviously, killing one person, critically injuring two other

people, nearly assassinating the former president and with the potential to create so much more

widespread damage than the catastrophe that had already occurred. And so taking in closer look at

what were the security measures in place, and particularly in those moments before,

like I said, because there has been kind of this, you know, very quick and widespread appreciation

for the Secret Service members who did step in, but what was and what was not done to prevent

this from even happening to begin with. Now, has there been any informational statements coming from the head of the Secret

Service as opposed to the general statements that I guess are just, you know, we will look into
