I'm John Flamere on this Thursday, September 30th. It's going to be a busy one. Let's start with the news.

Capitol Hill is going to be consumed with a series of consequential

events today. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced last night that Democrats have

reached a deal with Republicans to avoid a government shutdown. A vote will take place later this

morning on a stopgap funding bill that will keep the government open through early December.

The stopgap bill does not include a debt limit increase, however.

The House is expected to take up that measure once has been passed by the Senate.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters last night that her plan is still to bring

the bipartisan infrastructure bill to the floor for a vote today, despite threats from
