It was important to meet in person, so there can be no mistake about or misrepresentations

about what I wanted to communicate.

I did what I came to do.

Number one, identify areas of practical work our two countries can do to advance our mutual interest and also benefit the world.

Two, communicate directly, directly that the United States will respond to actions that impair

our vital interest or those of our allies. And three, to clearly lay out our country's

priorities and our values, so we heard it straight from me.

I did what I came to do. Those words from President Biden as he wrapped up his highly anticipated

summit with Russia's Vladimir Putin. The question is, what's the follow-through? And as the president

wakes up in the White House this morning, he turns his attention back to domestic politics. Two questions on that front. Is voting

rights back on the table? And are we seeing an infrastructure plan come together that could

actually pass the Senate? It's way too early for this.

President Biden is back at the White House this morning, having wrapped his first overseas trip as commander-in-chief.

The eight-day tour across Europe culminated with a face-to-face meeting with Vladimir Putin.

President Biden said the talks were positive, while Putin called the meeting constructive.

It is clear, however, the divisions remain on issues like human rights and cyber warfare.

Russia denied recent attacks on the United States and instead accused the U.S. of being the largest cyber aggressor. The issue of trust also came up. When Putin was asked if he trusted

President Biden, he said there was, quote, some specter of trust. Here's how Biden answered that question.
