Good morning and welcome to way too early, the show that's laying the groundwork for a history-making morning ahead.

I'm Casey Hunt on this Wednesday, June 16th. We'll start with the news. In just a few short hours,

President Joe Biden will become the fifth U.S. president to sit down with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The meeting in Geneva this morning will be the highest level face-to-face talks between the two nations

in three years. Biden and Putin first met in 2011 when then Vice President Biden said he looked

into then Prime Minister Putin's eyes and told him he has no soul. They clashed again in 2014 when

Biden, speaking for the Obama administration, condemned Russia's annexation of Crimea.

And today, there's another list of issues on the table, from hacking to election interference

to human rights. The meeting will take place in a lakeside mansion in Geneva's largest park.

Here's how we expect things to play out. President Putin is expected to arrive first at 7 a.m.

Eastern time, followed by President Biden shortly thereafter. After they're greeted by the Swiss

president, the three leaders will then appear together before the cameras, where only the

Swiss president is expected to make remarks. Then the meeting. Secretary of State Tony Blinken

will accompany Biden for the first phase, while Putin will also have his foreign minister.

Each side will also have a translator. The meeting will then expand to include five senior aides on each side.
