And we will begin this morning in California, where yesterday President Biden met with the widow and daughter of deceased Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, tweeting these images along a message, saying Alexei's legacy of courage will live on through his family.

Their meeting in San Francisco yesterday comes less than a week after Alexei Navalny died in a Siberian prison camp. Later in the day, President Biden spoke to

reporters about their meeting and the new sanctions against Russia that will be announced

later today.

This morning, I had the honor of meeting with Alexei Navalny's wife and daughter.

As you state, the obvious, he was a man in incredible courage.

And it's amazing how his wife and daughter are emulating that.

And we're going to be announcing the sanctions against Putin, who is responsible for his death tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in Russia, Navalny's mother says she has now seen his body, but is still not being allowed to claim it.
