Thanks for starting your day with us. And we'll begin this morning with more controversial comments from Donald Trump about protecting America's European allies.

Even as fears grow about Russia's expansionist ambitions beyond Ukraine, Trump is standing by his recent

threat not to defend fellow NATO members

from attacks if he is re-elected this fall. And a clip first aired on Fox News yesterday from a

town hall that was taped the previous day. Trump reiterated his recent comments about abandoning

Article 5 of the NATO agreement.

He then chastised Ukraine, which, remind you, is not a NATO member,

for not being able to spend more on its defense against Russia.
