I'm Jonathan Lemire. Thanks for starting your week with us. Tomorrow, millions of Americans will head to the polls to vote in this year's consequential and extraordinarily competitive midterm elections. As of yesterday morning, more than 40 million ballots had already been cast nationwide,

surpassing what we saw at this point in 2018. Right now, Republicans are entering the final stretch

confident. Their party could win control of the House and possibly the Senate, too.

Meanwhile, Democrats are bracing themselves for losses, potentially even massive ones,

even as they warn voters that democracy itself is on the ballot.
