The number of trucks entering Gaza continues to increase significantly, but we still have a long way to go.

The United States are going to continue to drive humanitarian support for innocent people in Gaza who need help, and they do need help.

We're going to continue to affirm that Israel has the right to respond responsibility to defend its citizens from terror,

and it needs to do so in a manner, though, is consistent with international and humanitarian law.

That was President Biden speaking yesterday about America's diplomatic role in the Israel-Hamas war.

And we'll begin this busy morning with the ongoing evacuations of four nationals who have

been stuck in Gaza.

The Rafa crossing reopened yesterday

morning after Qatar helped broker a deal. According to Egyptian state media, dozens of injured

people were brought to Egyptian hospitals. Hundreds of foreign nationals also passed through that

border. That includes five Americans who work

for aid organizations. This is the first time people have been able to leave the territory since

the war began last month. The Egyptian foreign ministry says about 7,000 people want to evacuate

and hold nationalities of more than 60 countries.
