political landscape. Yonkin, who entered as a largely unknown candidate, has capitalized on

hot-button issues like critical race theory to energize Republicans on the campaign trail.

In New Jersey, recent polls show that Republican challenger Jack CitiReilly,

cutting into the lead of incumbent Democratic governor, Phil Murphy.
