Well, we all knew it was coming, but last night he made it official.

The twice impeached former president who is under investigation, wants to be president again.

Meanwhile, one of Trump's longtime allies clears the first hurdle to becoming Speaker of the House,

despite some right-wing dissent.

The twice impeached former president, who is currently under investigation for trying to overturn the 2020 election,

and who inspired an insurrection at the Capitol, announced last night that he is running for president again.

In the hour-long speech, Donald Trump rehashed old conspiracies. He exaggerated his record,

railed against President Biden and the so-called radical left. He claimed to be a victim of

rogue justice department. Despite having many of his handpicked candidates rejected by voters a week ago, he declared a

comeback. Much criticism is being placed on the fact that the Republican Party should have done better,

and frankly, much of this blame is correct. But the citizens of our country have not yet realized

the full extent and gravity of the pain our nation is going through, and the total effect of the suffering is just starting to take hold.

They don't quite feel it yet, but they will very soon.

We will do whatever it takes to bring back honesty, confidence, and trust in our elections.

To eliminate cheating, I will immediately demand voter ID, same-day voting, and only paper ballots.

The gravest threats to our civilization are not from abroad, but from within.

None is greater than the weaponization of the justice system, the FBI and the DOJ.
