of the House Select Committee's subpoena to former

President Donald Trump. Last week, the panel voted unanimously to subpoena Trump for documents

and testimony relating to the January 6th attack. While the subpoena was initially expected

earlier this week, the timeline has slid. According to Politico,

Trump has hired a law firm that will engage with the House Select Committee. Earlier this week,

ABC News had reported that the subpoena was delayed in part because investigators were still

trying to find a lawyer for Trump who would be authorized to accept service of it.

While the exact timing of the subpoena remains unclear, the Washington Post yesterday reported that it will come by the end of the week.

According to the newspaper, Trump has told advisors that he'd potentially be willing to testify live before the committee.
