I recently harvested my first watermelon.

And let me tell you, victory has never tasted so sweet.

Man it was good.

It was an olibaba watermelon, that's the variety.

Huge.

Huge, I didn't weigh it.

But it was the size of those big ones that you probably see at the grocery store, except

it did not have the classic stripe pattern on it where it goes from light green to dark green.

It was mostly just light green and modeled all around, so a unique looking variety.

But I wanted to give you a couple tips here as far as growing watermelon and some mistakes

I think you might be making, some of which you can take advantage of if you're listening

to this podcast, the day it comes out right now, okay, the first one.

If it is taking too long to get ripe, well one thing you can do is you can place it on

a reflective surface above the foliage to increase the amount of light and heated experiences.

You can sort of force ripen it.

You can also prevent it from being in touch with wet soil.

That can have it wrought out if it's just too wet on the bottom where that field spot

ends up.

So the two things that people will do with plants is almost always they will over or underwater

If you're over watering your melons, you have two problems that you might run into there.
