Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people, the Word of God.

to speak through it. Thank you so much for giving us this privilege. If you had ever met a man

that was driven by destination in the entire New Testament besides Christ Jesus himself,

who was utterly resolved from the first moment to the last,

to do what he had been sent by the will of his father to earth to do, but anyone in his

shadow imitating after the way he had walked in a complete resolve to do the will of God,

it would have been the apostle Paul, constantly about destination, about destination,

about destination. He knew where he was trying to get so that the gospel would spread all over

that part of the world. And so he had resolved pretty early on that what he was going to need to do

is because all roads led to Rome, it was going to have

to be Rome that was going to be a huge focus of the gospel.

The New Testament church was already breaking into health and numbers there in Jerusalem.

If you've done the James series, you know that James was the head

of the church there in Jerusalem. It was thriving. It was also under persecution, so there had been

scattering, and the gospel was just jumping up all over the place. And the gospel had begun also

to head into Rome, but Paul knew that's where he needed to head. Let me start

picking up with you at verse 9, Acts 27. Since much time had passed, and the voyage was now

dangerous because the fast was already over. Do you see that that word fast in most of your

translations is capitalized?
