| 0:00.0 | Hello, once again, my friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. It is time for us to |
| 0:07.9 | get our minds aligned with the truth of God for this day. We have been doing that recently |
| 0:13.2 | by going through the book of Proverbs and today we're in chapter 15, looking at five |
| 0:18.7 | different verses that have to do with the way that we speak. But before we get there, |
| 0:23.2 | I just want to invite you, reach out to me and tell me about your life. Tell me about |
| 0:28.3 | what is going on with you. How I can be praying for you all of that kind of thing I would love to |
| 0:32.6 | hear. You can reach out. My email is Carrie, C-A-R-E-Y, at Carrie Green, just like the color.com. |
| 0:40.3 | All right, let's dive into Proverbs chapter 15. We're going to look at verses 1 and 2, |
| 0:45.6 | then verse 4, then verse 7, then verse 23. We're grouping these together because they all have to |
| 0:51.2 | do with the kind of speech that we allow to come out of our lips. Let's read verses 1 and 2. It says |
| 0:56.8 | a soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends |
| 1:05.0 | knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly. Now what we can see here from these first two |
| 1:11.2 | verses is that we're being instructed in how to respond in various kinds of situations. Verse 1 says |
| 1:18.8 | a soft answer turns away wrath. So what I'm imagining is a situation where someone has come to you |
| 1:24.8 | kind of angry, kind of upset about something. And what Solomon is advising here is that we respond |
| 1:31.6 | softly gently. Don't get heated up in return or in response, but rather let your answer be gentle |
| 1:41.2 | and careful because he says if you respond with a harsh word, that's going to stir up the anger |
| 1:47.0 | that's there even more. Now verse number 2 tells us the tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but |
| 1:53.7 | the mouths of fools pour out folly. So this is basically saying that when you're going to speak, |
| 2:00.2 | be sure that you're saying things that truly are wise, things that are truly rooted in the |
| 2:06.2 | word of God. Don't just talk for the sake of hearing yourself talk or because you feel like you've |
| 2:11.2 | got to have some sort of contribution. Let your contributions be rooted in what is wise. Verse |
