The guy who found Kurt Cobain's body was an electrician named Gary Smith.

He stumbled on the scene at about 840 on the morning of April the 8th, 1994.

He called a local radio station, saying that he had the scoop of the

century. When the King County Medical Examiner released a statement later in the day, the cause of

death was described this way, a shotgun wound to the head, and at this time, the wound appears

to be self-inflicted. 24 hours later, Kurt's death was officially declared a suicide.

Most of the world absorbed the news, grieved for a while, and then moved on.

Even now, more than a decade later, people are questioning that coroner's verdict.
