The Jungle Canopypy The jungle canopy sits heavy in its own damp treacle.

Zoom out and you see a green lake swaying in the breeze,

dashes of sunlight speckling the floor below,

zoom in to the crunchy leaves,

soaking twigs' musty soil of life,

tiny snakes and scorpions, maggots and creepers, mosses and molds, they wage a great battle.

Armies and allies, trenches and raids, they dig. Deep. They are soldiers in the forever war,

a trillion pinheads to the inch.
