just in the last few hours, which, taken at face value, would mean at the very least,

a pause in the war, U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, or perhaps the beginning of the end,

or as Winston Churchill said, the end of the beginning.

And these are the words that Donald Trump posts on truth social.

I am pleased to report that the United States and the country of Iran have had over the last

two days very good

and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities

in the Middle East, based on the tenor and tone of these depth, detailed, constructive

conversations, which will continue throughout the week.

I have instructed the Department of Water to postpone

any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day

period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions. Thank you for your

attention to this matter, which is how he always signs off these posts.

I mean, my instant reaction was, okay, well, let's see what happens. And I realized as I thought that, that is such a change. Normally, if an American president said these words, you think, right, that's it. It's the end of the war. My own sort of instinct have been worn down by the fact that he sometimes says, we're about to do this. 20 minutes later, we're going to do the opposite of this.

There was a promise there will be no attacks on energy installations in Iran. Then it was with 48 hours from doing it. So I was skeptical, but, Yonit, there have been more. There's been more information coming out in the subsequent hours that does suggest there is more to this than just a social media post.

Indeed.
