Summary

A wave of major developments at America’s southern border has pitted the Biden administration against a host of forces, including liberal advocacy groups, the Texas governor, and border towns. A new series of eye-opening studies from Science and Nature may challenge the way we view social media and polarization. The results seem to be counterintuitive to the common narrative of social media’s role in polarization, which begs the question – how polarizing is social media? Finally, this year marks the largest drop in church attendance in American history. What's driving this trend, and will there be any repercussions? We've got a ton going on here, just like I would say four or five overlapping stories.

And I think the biggest piece here is back in May, we talked about certain Biden administration

changes to the way they treated the border, the way they treated asylum cases, et cetera.

0:52.6

And we predicted that there would be a drop, actually, in people trying to cross the border

0:57.7

paradoxically, because at the time there was all of this sense that in rescinding Title 42,

actually lead to an increase in migrants, but actually it's been the opposite.

1:15.7

And it's been pretty dramatic.

1:17.9

So as of May, when these changes were announced, there were about 7,500 migrants trying to cross

daily.

1:25.7

Now it's down to 3,000, which is still historically high,

but dramatically lower than it was before. But there are storm clouds on the horizon here.

1:35.5

The last Tuesday, a federal judge ruled that Biden changes to the asylum rules are illegal,

and particularly found that the presumption that most migrants
